| | Well, I finally did it. I signed up for a half marathon. I am not in the shape I want to be in, and I wasn't making the time to exercise. So I am excited to have something to train for. The cold weather is so hard for me, so I am also glad it is getting warmer. The race I signed up for is the SLC half on April 23. I know it's like 8 weeks away, so hopefully I'll be in good enough shape by then haha! Should be good. I really am excited, just looking to finish and through the process establish some healthy habits. I don't feel like I have developed those since high school. SO EXCITED!! | Comments(1) |
| | Only had time to do 2.5 before work. But it was great. Love getting out to run. Planning to do 6 tomorrow, we'll see how that goes!! | Add Comment |
| | Did my first "long" run in a while. We woke up to snow so I had to do it on the treadmill. That makes for a long 6 miles. But I am feeling so good! Averaged about 8:30 miles.pretty happy with that. It feels good to be getting back into shape! | Add Comment |
| | Had to run again on the treadmill. My schedule is weird right now. I feel like I am going nonstop, and I have a husband who doesn't want me running alone in the dark. Plus the sidewalks are janky around where we live, wouldn't be good to trip or land weird on the knee. I'm almost looking forward to daylight savings to give me more sunlight in the evenings to run after work. Needless to say, I'm feeling great. It's been fun to get back into shape! I'm getting really excited for the half. | Add Comment |
| | It's spring break and I feel busier than ever..so that hasn't helped my training this week. Yesterday was a whirlwind and I didn't get anything in. Today I did some cross training (leg workout & biking). Logan has continued to be cold and snowy. Wish I was able to be running outside. Oh well, still grateful to be moving. | Add Comment |
| | Ran on the treadmill again. Decent run | Add Comment |
| | Long run for the week. Pretty slow, but good. Glad to be moving. It was a beautiful day, so nice to get outside. | Comments(2) |
| | I have run this week...just haven't documented. Anyways, the 8 mile long run was good. There was some dang canyon wind that made it rough at times, but I was proud of myself for running the whole time. I am not running very fast (hitting about 9 min miles) but I'm trying not to focus on pace for right now. Regardless, it was great to be outside and moving. | Add Comment |
| | Ran inside again. My schedule is the worst haha. I do feel like the treadmill motivates me to run faster though..so maybe it's a bonus. Finally feeling like I can survive a 5 mile run. I tempoed at 7ish min pace for the last mile which was great. Glad to see I can still pick it up! | Add Comment |
| | Today was a crazy day, physically. I helped move a friend this morning, then went and played pickleball for 1.5 hrs and then finally decided I better go on my run. Goal was to do 10, but I justified only doing 8.5 because of all the other physical activity I did. It was a good run. It felt good to get out. I still am running quite slow...which can be a little discouraging at times, but I have to remind myself I have had knee surgery, I am not training like I did in high school, I'm old and lazy, etc. Needless to say, I'm happy I can get out and run 8 miles. I'm still a little timid running the downhills with my knee, assuming that will get better with time. I did run everyday this week, just haven't taken the time to document. | Add Comment |
| | Got out for just over 7. I have a good 7 mile loop that gets me running hills. I can tell I'm getting stronger and more in shape. So that has been exciting. Still slow, but getting back into it. Less then a month until the half. Pretty excited. | Add Comment |
