| | Vertical laps and drills with the whole team. Ran up to the track with distance for mile warm up mile speed changes then 1000, 2x800, and 4x400. I hit the 1000 in a 3:45 as told, and the 800s in 3:05 and 3:12. The 400s were just 2 mile pace so about 1:30 on each one. Did a 4 mile cool down, up Sunnyside, down Foothill and 5th south, across Guardsmin, and to the teacher parking lot. It was a rough day, felt like slow motion or an invisible force holding me back...

| | Lap around the school for a whole team warmup plus drills and circuits. I headed out for a 12 miler with Bill, Tomy, Kiley, Chris, and Sarah S. We ran along 13th east all the way to Cottonwood Complex, through the Complex to 11th east over to 33rd south, down to 9th east, and back to 9th south and up. We had to stop for several POTTY breaks. I felt bleh the first 6 miles but then I was alright knowing that I was halfway there and warmed up. It got pretty dark by the time we finished. It was actually pretty warm considering it's Salt Lake City in February...

| | We didn't do our whole team warmup and drills today, so we got out on our run quick. I ran with Kiley, Natalie, Sarah S, Tomy, Chris, and Bill today. We ran along 13th east to South Temple and down to State Street. We ran over in a little neighborhood by Temple square by some little Hot Springs, then we ran on 4th West until Gateway and Energy Solutions Arena and then started zigzagging up the streets so we wouldn't have to wait at every light. Tomy, Natalie, Chris, and Kiley got ahead, and I pushed to keep up with them. At one point where they made a light turning right, I missed it and went straight. The good thing was that I got to run by the well on 5th east and 8th south and get a drink :) Then When we were on 9th south and 7th east I caught up with them and we went to 10.5 for the day and got to walk up the big hill and go home. Now I get to go ice skating!

| | Today we ran up Sunnyside to Foothill and along Guardsman and back to the track for a 3 mile warm up. We did a mile of speed changes to get ready for speed. My legs felt really heavy and it felt like I couldn't pick them up, as if I lost all my leg strength... We did 2 sets of 4 300s, in between sets we did 2 laps recovery. I hit between 57 seconds and 1:02. Some were just better than others. For a cooldown I just did a couple of grass laps at the stadium before running back down to the school, where I did a couple laps around the parking lot and softball field. My legs now feel like they're going to detach from my hips because they're super heavy.

| | Today we left without our usual track warm up for our penny run. We ran up to 13th east, flipped the coin, and went towards 8th south. I got to flip the coin this time, which took us down 8th south to 9th east. Then we flipped it again and it took us over to 17th south, up to 11th east, over to 21st south, and then when we hit 3 miles we turned around and went back the same way, running up the big hill. I'm pretty sure it's steeper on 8th south than 9th south. Then Kiley, Ashley, Tomy, and I went to Del Taco and got 20 tacos for our after-practice snack, in the Bug with the top down :) Yes, it was a warm day.

Saltair 10K (6.2 Miles) 00:44:44, Place in age division: 2 | | I did 3 miles of warmup and such. When the race started I didn't want to start too fast or slow. Sarah S started to pass me, so I decided the best way for me to be able to push myself was to go with her the first half and make her stay with me the second. We kept about a 6:45 pace the first 2 miles, then dropped down to about a 7. On our 4th mile we were crashing, about a 7:15 pace. On the last mile I said let's make this last one count, so we took it back up to a 6:50 pace for that last mile. I did a mile and quarter for a cool down to be at 60 this week. Next week is taper down :)
