Personal:

Pepper is my dog, thus my namesake. Used to run quite fast in the USMC (15:30 3 miles was my best) but stopped running when I got out. Now, it's much tougher and I generally cycle more than I run. However, I still compete in races because it's run and I can be a wee bit competitive.

Four miles after work in the neighborhood across the street. It was my first run since the marathon and my legs finally felt good enough to run again. At the beginning of the run, back right hip/hammy area felt tight then loosened up. Breathing was a bit erratic and I had a hard time getting in a groove. Everything felt like a bit of a struggle, but it was ok. About 2 miles into the run, my left calf started to tense up and my right hip/hammy area started to tense up again. Oh well...ran through it and both calves were sore by the end of the run. Finished in 29:58 and took Pepper for a nice 1.5 mile walk afterward. Good run, hope for better feeling next time. Remember...tomorrow is pretty darn important for our country. Get out and vote!

Yeah, I figured it was time to get back out. I would actually love to do the 10k but I'll be heading back from Texas on Sunday. I'm going down on Thursday to visit some old Marine Corps buddies. Maybe next time?

Congratulations on voting for your first time. Welcome aboard the democracy train! It is a really exciting moment and something not many people in the world have the liberty to take part of. Hooray for your and out country!

Ok, you're forgiven.

Mark your calendar though, December 13 is my birthday and I'll be doing some sort of race that day or Sunday the 14th, followed by brunch at my place to thank all my friends for their support after my accident! I hope you can make it!

Have fun in Texas!

Thanks...I apppreciate it. :)

Consider my calendar marked. Just remind me as we get closer....I tend to forget things. There always is the "Jingle all the Way 10k" on December 14th. Sounds like a fun race that includes a bit o' holiday cheer!
