Personal:

Born in 1973 in Southern California.

Ran in high school for Arcadia. They have a famous cross-country team now. In my day, we were famous for dodging our coach during runs.

Over the next 15 years I ran very little, but life was awesome. I lived mostly in Northern California, where I met my wife. We moved back to her native state of Florida in 2005, where I gradually started running more seriously.

PM: 8 miles at track. Descending ladder with Quint, Anthony and Lee. Nothing amazing, but a little progress.

Workout: 1200, 800, 400, 200, EACH WITH 200 REST, 2 SETS WITH 400 REST BETWEEN THE SETS.

Splits:

Chilly night, upbeat crowd at track. Something that seems so Floridian: two of the best races in Pinellas County are happening this weekend. At one point the race directors locked horns and now make it an annual tradition to schedule their events on top of each other. Plenty of racing options for runners this weekend, anyhow.

Which one will you choose?

Hey Bret, normally choosing is a tough call for me - this year the hardest choice is whether I'll get out the door.

Definitely not St. Pete Beach - really like the 5/10k races they put on, but I'm in no shape for that.

I'm not in shape for a half either, but I have an entry for Clearwater, and it's a good workout with the bridges. Right now the prediction is 94% chance rain, which is not helping my motivation.
