Last night I had a 101 fever and stuffy nose and cough.  I've been taking everything possible to get better before next week.  I woke up this morning not feeling great, but I went out and ran 5 miles anyway.  I ran sort of a 4 mile ladder run and then a cool-down mile.   (6:36,6:28,6:04, and 6:01).  Hopefully I can get over this sickness.  Tomorrow depending on how I feel I was going to do a 12 mile run  and more of a downhill course.

I hope you can get over your sickness asap and be ready for the Dam Marathon. Your training looks to have been really good. Good thing next week is taper week for you as well, give you time to get back to full strength. Look forward to seeing you again

Kory,

Unless you feel better don't feel like you have to get the 12 miler in. Just do what you can and make it easy enough that your body can recover. You are not going to lose any fitness by not doing the full 12 if you are not up to it. The most important thing is to get healthy before next week. You are fit and ready to run now just get healthy!

As far as why I will be gone for so long, yes it is work. I will be in Fort Lewis Washington evaluating Army Cadets from across the nation. It will be tough to get runs in as I will probably be working 16-20 hour days for most of the time I am there. However, I plan on forcing myself to get the runs in some how.
