Today I started from my house and decided to run the 10k race course that was already in progress by about 15 minutes by the time I ran there. I passed quite a bit of runner's but didn't push too hard. I reached the course about two miles into my run, and started picking the pace up (6:32, 6:20, 6:05, 6:02, 6:16, 6:50) then another cool-down mile.

Totals 9 miles at a 6:38 pace in 59.54 nothing that great and not pushing real hard today, but I did get some good quality miles in.

Afterwards I took an ice bath. I like to do this every once in a while to freshen up the leg muscles

The rest of the day my wife and I went looking at Toy Hauler RV's. We want to buy an RV that
feels like home, but will also carry two ATV's. We liked the Weekend Warrior Superlite fs23. We our both big time into taking the family camping, and I'm a whip anymore and don't like to sleep in tents.

I hit over 80 miles for the week now I will taper to 50 miles than 30-25.

That is an aggressive taper. Have you tapered like this before or is this an experiement? Is this for the Pocatello Marathon? It looks like you are fit and ready to do well.

If I could afford a Toy Hauler RV and a couple ATV's I would do it. I really do like riding ATV's in the back country as you can cover so much ground and see so much more. It is fun to get out and run and mountain bike as well but ATV's are a blast.

Ted, I exactly did 84 miles two weeks before the Teton Dam Marathon so I've done this before. But I figured if I take the next two weeks easy I should be okay. I hope that's true, and that I didn't over-train. I was little sore today that's why I took the ice bath.

I'm thinking I may even do less than 50 miles this week. I've really really worked hard in this training to hopefully be under 2:50. I wish I could have you guys up here to pace me.

We have two fairly new 400 ATV's that we bought over two years ago. I've been spoiled by staying in my father-in-laws Toy Hauler, and it's made me a whip to want to use a tent. Plus my wife is really the one who wants an RV. We can afford it as long as the payments are not too high. I really don't like getting in debt though. ATV's are fun in the mountains, and my wife really enjoys them. I like going to the mountains and doing trailer running. That's a lot of fun.

Kory, you are amazing with the distance you have put in and the pace at which you are training. Enjoy your taper two weeks. I finished Pikes Peak this past Sunday and have posted my race report if you get a chance to read it. Later, Paul
