Today I did an easy recovery run 8.4 miles at a 7:29 pace in 1:03 minutes.  Since I did 23 miles yesterday it felt good just to get out there and run just run and not focus.  Next  week on my long run I plan to do 18 miles and 12 of those miles will be at marathon pace to see where I'm at (6:40 pace).  Boston is coming up soon. My goal of being under 3 I believe is in reach..

I can't decide if I want to do one more 20 miler before Boston, I've done 5 so far for the training.  Whatever I decided I feel like I've trained hard and I hope I see result.  We need to think postive and have confidence right?

Your training has been amazing and you are definitely ready for sub-3 at Boston. With the challenges of weather, work and other things that you have been faced with, you still put in solid quality miles. For what it's worth, I'm doing another 20 miler in 2 weeks just to stay sharp. This will only be my 5th 20+ miler of the training cycle, though.

Thanks for the comment in my blog. Wow, I read how you are running and I am humbled. Keep up the good work without getting injured and you are for sure a sub 3 hr marathon in Boston.

This will be my 7th consecutive Boston, but my best time is a couple of 3:35 runs. It is obvious your best marathons are still ahead of you and they will continue to be awesome.

When in doubt, do one less rather than on more 20 miler. If you have few days less than 10 total, and enough days with at least 15 total, 90% of it done in one run, and a good mix of tempo work, 20 milers are not necessary, and too many can hurt. At least I run better marathons this way.
