This morning I felt really good and I think I beat the stomach flu, or the stomach flu beat me down and decided to leave my body. On Saturday I decided I would take Sunday (my normal day off) and Monday off as rest days, but I felt good so I ran. Besides I ate so much food Sunday that I needed the exercise. Our church had a Thanksgiving potluck, and I decided to have sweets which I normally don't do, but the temptation got the best of me.

I ran 8.3 miles at an overall 6:43 pace in 56.10 minutes. Really the run was uneventful. I ran mainly a flat route. I really have been ignoring the speed training and tempos for about three weeks now and need to get back to that. This morning run felt real easy and I wanted to push the pace, but I thought I would wait till tomorrow to make sure I totally feel better.

Lunch:

Very nice afternoon so I had to run outside, other than the wind was awful.  We actually have a wind advisory for the whole day.  I ran 5.3 miles at a 6:39 pace.  The pace was a little harder with the wind hitting me, but a good effort.  I wanted to run more, but I was on my lunch hour, and need to save time for a shower.   Jeff probably understands how you have to hurry to do your second run.

Good job getting out there after being sick! You must be part machine. This doesn't look like a super easy recovery run to me!

Nice new pic!

I hear you on the lunch runs...wanna get a decent run in but don't have too long while the clock is running. We also started getting the wind yesterday and the lunch run was a bit tough heading out into the wind...but a good boost coming back! Gotta love SE Idaho.

I saw that you are not planning on coming up for the race...bummer but I understand. Have a great Thanksgiving.

Your right about the wind it's awful. This morning I tried a tempo run and I didn't have much success. The wind just beat me down where I couldn't get a consistent pace going. I still had a little bit of stomach issues going this morning too.

With family coming over my wife didn't think it was a great idea for me to run up there so I will run at home on turkey day.

I really need to run a shorter race to get some go training in. Does Idaho Falls have a race in December?

By the way you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving Jeff.

I didn't even bother with the wind this morning...I went to the gym and did my run.

I will try to get a lunch run in depending on timing (taking my daughter to school today since my wife was the number 2 sales associate at Melaleuca last month and they are buying her lunch today and giving her a bonus!).

As for a race in December, I think there is one on December 31 (the Resolution Run 5K). There was indications of one in early December, but that appears to have been deleted.
