According to the weather this morning it was 0 degrees with the wind chill it was -7. I dressed in three layers on the top and headed out. Didn't feel cold on the run other than my hands at about 40 minutes into the run. I ran 8.2 miles at an overall 7:08 pace in 58.26 minutes. It was very slick so as much as I could I would find snow pack to run on.

The fastest miles I did was 6:55, and 6:53. This was a relaxing run and didn't want to push the pace at all. It's suppose to be really cold all week. I'll probably run some on the treadmill at home on my lunch hour.

 Lunch:

Ran 5.8 miles in 40 minutes on home treadmill.  3 miles at a 2% grade under 7 minutes.  Jeff gave me the ideas after I read how he mixed up the elevation, and I realized I haven't done this lately on my treadmill runs (Thanks Jeff).  I don't feel I've done enough speed work on my uphills and need to work on that.

You are a braver man than I...I went to the gym, but hit a good hill and threshold workout! No run at lunch for me (still too cold and I can feel my foot again so I will take it easy this week).

Great job getting out with Rachelle yesterday...looks like running is sucking her in too!

Jeff, I was close to running on the treadmill. I'm sure I'll hit the treadmill sometime, because I'll need to get in some speed work. I think your a lot smarter than me to hit the gym vs freezing hands which is always my case.

I looked at your work-out and man! thats a good workout. Great threshold pace and hills. I need to start hitting the uphill at a fast pace. I really haven't been doing that on uphills lately.

Take care of that foot, because really the only important run for you now is your 18 miler, because you know you have the MP down. With a good endurance run I know you'll do well come January you've already proven that.

No problem, if you have to run on the TM, make it worth while and get some hill training in.

Oh, next time, to make it more like hills, you need to go up to more like 3-6%. 2% is still approximately the same as being outside.

I messed up Jeff. I did do 1 mile at a 3% grade. I also ran some hills on Monday up Olympus drive, but not at a fast pace which I want to work on. I'm considering doing hill repeats, and that can easily be done on the TM.
