I was pretty tired before I got on the treadmill after a 11 hour day at
work. I started with the treadmill at 5.5 and gradually increased it to
7.0 completing the mile in 9 minutes and 51 seconds; a second longer than the fastest mile I ever ran over a year ago. Under a 10 min mile is fast for me. I have been afraid to push
hard for speed. Think it is time I got over this fear. Excited that I ran a mile under 10 minutes I decided to try again after some stretching and sipping on water. Ran another mile, this time with my treadmill set to 7.0 the whole time completing the mile in 8 minutes and 37 seconds. Fastest mile I have ran in my life. Wasn't to painful, I didn't have the urge to hit the stop button until I hit 0.68 miles but I told myself I was almost there. If I do this more often it will get easier.
