Mueller Park Loop. On Thursday, I ran the Mueller Park Trail and noticed that there was not a lot of snow on it. Today I decided to run the full loop. I started at my house which is three miles from the trailhead. I made it up to Elephant Rock in 1:22. Above Elephant Rock the trail was hard pack and very runnable. Near the top the snow got soft and I was post holing. I made it up to Rudy's Flat in 2:10. It was just starting to get light outside. The run down North Canyon was nice hard packed snow. At the end of the trail is a dirt road. The road was extremely icy. Probably the worst I have ever seen it. I was slipping and sliding all over the place, but never fell down. I made it back home in just under three hours. Not a bad time for a winter loop. |
