Hi, my name is Matt and I love to run! I especially enjoy trail running. I am married to Susie and we have six children Connor-10, Jed-8, Jaxine-7, Evan-4, Eliza-2, and Susanna-0. Look for me at your next race, I wear the same bright yellow Twinkies shirt at all my races.
Favorite Course: Mid-Mountain Marathon, Park City, Utah
2.5 easy miles just to keep my legs feeling loose. I ran on the treadmill so that I wouldn't be tempted to go too fast or run up a mountain. I am running the Pony Express 50 on Friday. I will probably do one last easy run tomorrow.

I'm assuming you heard the story about the mountain lion up Mueller Park canyon. Be careful out there.

Nice Twinkies!! See you on Friday!
The mountain lion story was scarey. I wonder if my dog would scare one away, or least annoy it enough for me to get away.
Enjoy your taper!

I totally thought of you when I heard the mountain lion story. I have been band by James from running there alone, I love running that trail alone!

That mountain lion incident happened really high up. In the story the guy road his mt bike up the trail for an hour before running. But that really doesn't mean much as home ranges for mt lions are huge and therefore could easily reach down to the bottom of the trail. I was talking about it with a friend this morning and have some insights, which I won't share here. Crazy situation, for sure.

I just heard about this story this morning. Definitely scary. I have had encounters with deer, elk, moose, and snakes. But never seen a mountain lion.
That being said, anybody care to join me the next time I go up? It probably won't be for about two or three weeks since I am running the Pony Express 50 Miler this week.

Did you comment on it Junior? Were you the one they were talking about when the said another experienced trail runner saw a cougar in May?

No. It could have been a someone who I read about who saw a Mt Lion in the back trails of park city. I'm not sure though. I'm nut lucky enough to see cool things like that, only badgers, moose, deer, and the occasional twinky.
