Happy New Year!!!

I decided to start the year off good with a 10 mile run in the snow. I ran South from my house to the Bonneville Shoreline trail head. Then ran up to the second set of radio towers. The final mile up the the second tower (all uphill) took me 16:34. The next mile (downhill) was 9:01. I really enjoyed the trail today. It was soft packed most the way with a few deep spots. The sky was clear and the air was clean today.

Since its a new year, it's time for a new set of goals. Last year I set a goal to run a sub 3 hr marathon. I didn't get there. I only ran one marathon which was the Mid-Mountain Marathon. I am shooting for sub 4 hr on that course. This year my marathon goal will be 3:15. I plan on doing that at the Teton Dam marathon in June. My big goal for this year is to complete a 100 miler. I am planning on running the Pony Express 100 in October. Other than that my main focus is going to be to train consistently and not slack off.

I am still working on putting together my race schedule for 2010. Look for it in the next week.

I am copying last years results hear so that I have a record of them.

Sounds like a good plan for next year. My only comment is that I hear Teton Dam is a very tough, slow marathon. Your 3:15 goal at it seems rather ambitious to me.

Thanks Jon. The Teton Dam Marathon has the home town appeal for me. My parents live in Newdale which is the first little town that the race goes through. I have ran the marathon 3 times and PR'd on that course in 2006 with 3:25. 3:15 is a bit of a stretch, but if I train well between now and then it will be doable. If I don't reached that goal in June I might run the Pocatello marathon which is a faster course.

Great year. Hope you have an even better 2010.

Great miles to start the year. I think you have a couple of really good goals in there.

Do you plan to run in any of Cascadia Series races this summer? I think I'm going to go do all 3.

Burt - Thanks, 2010 will be a great year.

Craig - I might do some of the Cascadia series in I can fit them in my schedule. I think the Gruesome Grizzly 8k might fall on the same day as Sapper Joe. I do want to run as many trail races as I can though.

You're off to a great start with a snowy 10 miler. Good luck on that 100 miler this year! I'll be looking for the report on that one for sure.

Great workout - good luck on your goals!

If you've run TD 3 times than you certainly know more about it than I do. Go get your 3:15.
