Consistently place in the top 5 of my age division as long as my body will allow it.

Beat Terry Bean at any distance at least one time before I depart this earth.

Take care of mind and body so I can be in it for the long haul. Don't do STUPID THINGS!

Run until I'm 99 with Kim by my side and remember that EVERY RUN IS A GREAT RUN!

Slept in a bit today then ran 3 solo before meeting up with Kim for 5 more. Warm today - high 30's - and overcast. Nice to be able to wear shorts! Pretty nice for January although we did get rained on for a few minutes. This week is a RRR week for me (Rest/Recovery/Reduced-miles) to give my body/legs a break before officially beginning the 20-week marathon training cycle leading up to UVM.

I've been fortunate to have built a real nice winter running base and I'm feeling healthy. Nice to already have the base and have the body used to 60 mile weeks before starting the marathon training, as I should be able to start adding in the speed without also having to worry about adding mileage. Hopefully all will go well between now and June.

Thanks Kam. Sub-3 would really be nice but I think sub-3:10 is more realistic for me for UVM. Most likely a sub-3 attempt will have to come at St. George sometime in the next couple years.

Honestly, I'm content to just be back running again a little more regularly, and I'm very happy for you. I don't know anyone more deserving of a successful, injury free running season than you. You're due. Good luck with your marathon training.
