Nice 4.3 mile taper run in the AM with Kim. Ran into Steve K and he joined us for a while and we had a good chat. Kim's back has been bugging her lately at night but during the run everything was clicking. Getting excited for the weekend!  Hopefully the heat won't do us all in.

Later went to the gym for 30-min various XT stuff. Then finished with 7 minutes barefoot running on the grass.

I think its great to see how well you came back from your injury this year. From what i've observed, it seems like you've had a fun time running and training with Kim.

Good luck and have a great time on Saturday!

Cal I have had a great summer of recovery and fun laid back training (for me, maybe not always for Kim). I'm finding I'm just as excited looking forward to pacing Kim Saturday as if I was running, but without all the other pre-race jitters, anxiety, phantom pains, etc.

I highly recommend everyone take some down time every so often, throw away the training schedule and just run for fun for a few weeks or months.
