Did 45 minutes XT with the majority on the bike. I've felt pretty good the last few days and I wanted to try a few things today while I'm off the meds and don't have them masking any pains.

I actually ran a few steps. Felt much better than Monday but still enough little pains and weirdness to where I think I'm still maybe a week away from doing a meaningful test run.

Also did 5 min each on the stair stepper and eliptical to see how that felt. I could feel the hip just a bit but I think I could probably do more and be OK. For now I'll stick mostly with the bike with maybe a touch of higher impact stuff every so often just to better gauge where I'm at. By golly I'm becoming a pretty patient guy.

I am glad someone out there has patience. I am sorry to hear it is still hurting you so much, that is a bummer. BUT, on the other hand, you will get a really tough behind from riding the bike!

Wanna hear something weird? All of this time off from running, and my PF flared up. What the heck is that about???

Tom, Glad to hear it's feeling a little better. I had a hip flexor strain right before the St George marathon 2009. It probably wasn't as bad as yours but it cleared up pretty quickly and never came back. Hopefully yours will do the same.

The "pf" pain could be from your sciatic nerve -- I get that sometimes. Could be related to tight hip flexors/gluts.

I am glad you are feeling better Tom!

I was thinking it might be from all of the standing I have done (as opposed to sitting) and I am always barefoot or in very unsupportive shoes.

Tom and K-Power - I am with on the shoes, bought good supportive dress shoes at New Balance, made a big difference. We often were $100 running shoes and then wear crap shoes the rest of the day. It is hard to read about injuries for bloggers this time of year when servious training cycles are starting, bummers.

Stay Kool, B of bS Rools out
