Nice and gentle 6 miler with Kim. Her ITB is threatening to act up again so we avoided the hills and backed off on the pace and hopefully we can nip this one in the bud. I'm thinking we should have run the Saturday race a bit more leisurely or made this week more of a rest week. Our Friday runs are always optional so we may play that card and maybe shorten the Saturday long run as well. Dang injuries always seem to be lurking around the corner, just waiting for us runners to make a single wrong move or bad decision.

Did 45 minutes various XT at the gym: elliptical - 15 min, bike - 10, stairs - 15. Legs feel really good after the XT, I need to remember to do these 2 or 3 times a week for the time being.

Dang them injuries. Are we getting older?

I know you two are a bit older than me, but your string of injuries over the last year are not giving me lots of optimism that I will avoid further injuries in the future. Good running this week, Tom.

gotta report here....I'm feeling really good today after this morning's run. I'm hoping it's just warning me to be careful and I will heed it's warning.

Seriously, PF and IT band issues are my nightmares! Both have plagued me the last three years. It stinks!! But, I know you guys are SMART and all will be well. Just avoid running downhill!!!!!

Have a great weekend!

From the Injury Devil. Tom you've been doing a lot of cross training and easy jogging. Your legs are now in great shape ready for some faster running. You're a lean mean running machine.

Terry I don't do so well doing much faster running in the early AM hours. The tendon-butt-itis complains too much.

For now I'm content to get a good base of easy miles through the summer then when temps cool down after SGM and I start running at work I'll add in some faster stuff.

I wouldn't exactly call me very lean and mean right now either. Still packing around my 4-8 lb. injury/cruise gut that just does NOT want to go away.

Tom, from an old fart, just keep after it, your handling the situation with class. The tough part of injuries, what can we do different in running, stretching, strenght, etc. to keep from getting them again. After STG we should get together and run West Canyon up snow canyon, great time of year to start the Deseret Palm getaways. We are going down next weekend for a few days.

Stay Kool, B of BS Rools out
