Injury update....about the same as before, getting a little better each day. Slow going but as long as each day is a little better than the one before I'm pleased.

Surprisingly I'm not completely-bonkers-stark-raving-mad-lunatic-man like I thought I would be at this point. Got over the very sluggish and tired phase, and my appetite has finally calmed down a little. Today I actually weighed at 138 which is right around the weight I usually hover when I'm in race shape. I'll be happy just to keep any weight gain to 5 lbs or less.

Thought I'd just mention the factors that I believe have helped me stay sane during this period of pretty much ZERO exercise for almost 2 weeks:

1) Great supportive and patient wife and family.

2) Been very busy with other projects, mostly work stuff where I've been under the gun the last while.

3) Keep perspective by comparing my situation vs. a zillion other people in much more dire circumstances.

4) Run vicariously through Kim's running efforts in my role as "Coach Tom". I'm excited to play the cheerleader role when she runs Provo 1/2 marathon next week.

5) Stay spiritually focused - in the words of Elder Busche whose youtube video I link to at the bottom of my LT running goals in my profile: "When you are physically sick, tired or in despair, steer your thoughts away from yourself, and direct them in gratitude and love towards God".

Probably be going back to the sports Doc early next week. I'll update again then.

When you're up to it, the pool running is a good alternative. Get better soon.

Thanks Paul. I'm going to the Doc tomorrow and I'll discuss crosstraining options with him. HOpefully there is something I'll be able to start doing soon.

Bonkers - no exercise - bonkers on bonkers - good work, I would be clock work orange. Hope your back on the roads healthy soon. The diet thing, how do you not eat like you are running? What will power, I thought you would be icing from the inside out with ice cream.

Stay Kool, B of BS Rools out

Brent I have done a little icing from the inside :) But I noticed after about a week or so where my appetite was about the same as when running then it calmed down.

Also food just doesn't quite taste as good to me after over 2 weeks of doing no exercise. In general it seems like my senses and alertness are dulled. Just kind of a general feeling of "blah".
