Got up early all excited about 32 degree temps. My excitement was short-lived as I noticed very slick patches of nearly invisible ice at random spots on the road. Even worse down in the river bottoms as the roads were pretty much iced over everywhere. So at this point my main objective became just to not fall on my behind. Ended up mostly walking/skating in the bottoms and back up the hill. Best roads were the main roads around residential areas which were mostly runnable but I was so worried about finding ice I never dared speed up much. I think my average pace ended up just under 11 min/mi. But on a positive not I did not fall on my behind. This January has NOT been kind to runners in northern Utah. Later got in 30 min XT at the gym.
