5k PR - Snow Canyon Cross Country Region 2011 - 18:42

Dixie State College Midnight 5k - 10/21/11 - 20:09 - 15th overall

Hell Hole 5k - 5/14/11 - 29:06 - 5th place overall - 3rd in Men ages 1 - 19

Mile time - 5:40 (This was the time of my first mile of the 2011 XC Region race so I'm pretty sure I can run faster if I'm just running a single mile. I just haven't timed a single mile yet.)

Most mileage run around a 400m track: 5 miles (20 laps) 11/17/11

800 Meter PR - 2:36.40 - Region IX Track and Field Meet (placing 13th) - Freshman Year

Short-Term Running Goals:

Run a 5k minimalist status.

Run a 30+ mile relay. Break 18 minutes for my 5k.

Get my mile time in the low 5 minutes.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Run a marathon in Japan

Run a marathon at age 80

Run across small countries (The Vatican, San Marino, Andorra, Liechtenstien)

Run from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean (near the Panama Canal)

Run an IRONMAN

Run an Ultra Marathon 100+ mile race

Personal:

I ran XC for Pine View High School. In America. I stopped running for a bit over a year, but now I'm starting back up using minimalist shoes and am going to focus on running 5ks in FiveFingers.

On October 23, 2013 I leave for the Missionary Training Center in Bogota, Colombia. After six weeks there I'll go on to serve a two year mission in Cochabamba, Bolivia.

Looking back and realizing that my last actual workout was much over a year ago, I decided to get going again, but this time with minimalist shoes. Right now my goal is to eventually run a 5k in them as soon as I can build up. I feel kinda pathetic only running a quarter mile today, but I was told no more than 1/4 - 1/2 mile day with no more than a 10% increase per week. So these next few weeks may be a bit slow moving, but I'll eventually get there.

Ran my quarter mile again today. I can't wait for next week so I can run a bit longer. I guess the short runs leave for a lot of time to lift though, haha.

The final day of my quarter mile week haha. Again, not much to report as I took my 400 meters.

This week I'm running 800 meters a day. It feels nice to be able to be able to run a bit more, even if it isn't much. Lifted for an hour or so before running today.

Today I ran outdoors instead of on the indoor track that I usually frequent. My right arch has been sore, but I think I'm adjusting well to these new shoes.

Ran on the usual indoor track today. My right calf seems to tighten up a lot, and I'm not sure if it has to do with my arch or my nail hole... the good thing is it feels just fine after the run haha.

Last day of my half mile week. I'm excited to be able to run a bit more next week. I also biked 15 miles before my run this morning to get a little more of a leg workout.

I'm back after a two day break, but I think it helped a bit. My arches have been pretty sore these last few days.

Bumped up "mileage" to three quarters of a mile haha. I'm feeling great, and the soreness in my arches cleared up over the weekend. More exciting news from the weekend, I got my mission call to Cochabamba, Bolivia! I'm way excited and hopefully they have some good places to run haha.

Got back to running today. Arches a bit sore after not running these last two days, but that went away by the third lap. I can definitely feel them strengthening up though.
