Goal Type:

Boston Qualifier

Running Accomplishments:

PRed in Malibu Nov. 2009 with a 4:00:25, I think.  Shy of sub-4 hours and shy of BQ 3:45.

Other marathon times:

May 2009: Orange County (4:21) and LA (4:15)

Feb. 2010: Surf City (4:09)

Took a couple years off from running in 2013-2014. Haven't done any marathons since 2011 though I started doing half marathons again in 2017.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Still want to qualify for Boston (3:55).

Want to qualify for the NYC Marathon by running a 1:42 half marathon.

Upcoming Races

Long Beach Half Marathon Oct. 8

Surf City Marathon Feb. 2018--I'm training to try to BQ.

Long-Term Running Goals:

I want to keep running marathons into my 70s.

Personal:

Keep close to Nature's heart...and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods.  Wash your spirit clean. --John Muir

I stole this from Tom's blog because I really like it:

Hudson tidbit: "When it's done right, the long-term training process is like an asymptote. The line that the training process moves toward but never reaches is 'perfect training'.....while it's impossible to train perfectly, it is possible to train better and better."

This was supposed to be 22 miles, but it's a little short.  That doesn't bother me.  I finished feeling like I could probably do 8 or 10 more miles at that pace.  Time was 3:23.  Had fun on most of this run.  Ran on some uncharted territory in north Irvine.  Here's a map of it: http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-states/ca/irvine/378125641173410370

Great run, nice pace! Were you by yourself? Long runs can be really grueling when you are with your lonesome.

I always round to the nearest .5 mile, so this was definitely a 22-miler!
