In my freshmen year, I lettered in both track and cross country. I also got the Rookie of the Year Award in cross country, and the Freshmen of the Year Award in track. At regions for XC I was 7th. At state I was 65th. In track at regions I placed 3rd in the mile and 2nd in the 2 mile. At state I was 17th in the mile and 13th in the 2 mile.

Sophomore year I was a cross country captain and I lettered again. I was 3rd at regions and 12th at state. At track regions I was 3rd in the mile and the 2 mile. I also anchored the winning medley relay team.

Junior year I got a stress fracture about a month before the cross country season started, but made a great comeback with a 2nd place finish at regions.  At state I placed 6th, and I broke 19 minutes for the second time in my racing history.  Team captain again. In track I shattered my old PRs and was doing well until I got a stress reaction.  After 3 weeks off I built my strength back up and performed well at state, earning 4th in the 1600 and 5th in the 3200.  After that, I was invited to the Great Southwest Track Meet in Albuquerque, where I took 5th.

My senior year in cross country I was a captain again, this time with Amanda and Natalie.  This season I was injury free so I got to run competitively at invites.  At state I took 3rd.  At Footlocker Western Regionals I outkicked a girl on the track to finish 10th, which qualified me for nationals the next weekend.  I beat both of the girls who had beat me at state in that race.  At nationals I took 22nd and beat 6 of the girls who had beat me at regionals.  Going into the outdoor season the first Invitational I attended was the Davis Super Meet where I qualified for state in the 1600 and the 3200, and I broke the meet record for the 3200 in an 11:01.29, the previous record was an 11:17.  I had a strong finish to my senior season and finally claimed a state title.  I ran the fastest 1600 and 3200 at state for any division, claiming the double crown in those events, and earning the athlete of the year award :)

Now in college, I run for the University of Utah.  I lettered my freshman season of cross country, and made it to regionals in the 5k in track.

Sophomore year I improved in cross country.  In track I raced the 1500, 5k, 800, 10k, and the mile of the DMR before repeating the 5k at conference and then the 10k at regionals.  Placed 28th behind a lot of seniors... so nationals next year!!

After school on the track we did a mile warmup and then a mile speedchanges.  Then we had a stretch break while Bill explained the workout.  Then we did a lap, and then we did two 400s with standing recovery.  My times were 1:20 and 1:17.  Then we did two 200s with jogging back to the start recovery, I hit 36 both times.  Then in the side field we practiced starts on 5 strides.  Then we did 2 stadium laps cooldown.  At home later I did crunches, pushups, and arm swings.

Today after school we volunteered at the Food Bank as a team, like we have ub other years to continue our tradition.  We got to work with strawberries.  Afterwards we went for a 2 mile run on Jordan River trail and then had a nice dinner at Emily's house.  Hoping to do well tomorrow!!!

This afternoon it was pouring and very windy when it was time to start warming up.  As a group, we ran around cheering for our runners, staying in the flat part of the course.  Then we changed shoes by our pine tree, and I took my Gu.  Then we went closer to the start line, staying dry under some trees.  To stay warm we had fun singing "I'll make a man out of you" while we were jumping and keeping warm.  Then we headed to the line and did a few strides.  Then after listening to directions we took off our sweats.  We were on the far left.  I had a good start I think, and the wind had gone down.  We went to the side of the sand a little bit.  A bit past the baseball fields I caught up to Natalie.  Then going down Bessie I opened up and was making the lead.  I ran the whole race like that, knowing that Natalie was behind me, and at sharp corners I could see that both of us had a huge lead.  The best part was when I was going back up the finger on the second lap and I saw my little sister in 5th place!  I cheered for her as I passed on the other side.  Then at the top of the hill after the finger I accidentally kept running along the fence when I was supposed to turn so I quickly ran back and went the right way.  When I got to Bessie for the final time I really was pushing because I was so excited and wanted to see how the team would do.  I finished with a time 6 seconds slower than last year, but under the conditions thats explanatory.  Natalie was second, Abigail was 5th.  There were a bunch of girls from the other schools who finished between Abigail and our number 4, Maggie, who took 15th.  Stansbury already had their 5 in.  Then Amanda finished 21st and Suzette was 22nd, Sarah was 26th.  We were so happy when we saw the final score on Amanda's card and that we had taken first place!!!!!!!!!!  We were so happy, we were screaming and crying and hugging each other!!! That makes our second year as region champs, and another great end for the seniors :)  Afterwards Suzette and I did about a mile cooldown going around parts of the course cheering on the guys.

Today for workout us girls got to choose to go wherever we wanted.  We were supposed to stay in a group the best we could, I was with Amanda, Natalie, Suzette, and Abigail.  We ran up to Guardsman, then went over into U campus and ran up to Legacy Bridge.  Then we ran through campus up to Red Butte.  I wanted to go up on Shoreline, but we would have had to take the detour so instead we went on Drycreek.  We ran all the way over past the JCC and went on the paved road that went down 11th Ave.  Then we ran out almost to the firestation and then turned around and ran to the Shriner's drinking fountain.  Then we took the Shriner's way back to the track and finished with a lap to bring it to 8.  When I got home I did my crunches, pushups, and arm swings.

Today we drove down to Liberty for workout.  We started with a lap warmup and then stretched, and then ran to the painted start line.  Then we did a mile, 2 halfs, and a mile, all with half mile recovery.  My times were 5:59, 2:52, 2:48, 6:00.  After the first mile Emily said that if we beat our first mile time on the second mile then we would get a candy bar.  I was one second off, oh well.  Afterwards we finished our lap and did another for cooldown.  Later at home I did my crunches, pushups, and arm swings.

I actually got to sleep in this morning!  That was exciting :)  We had a later morning workout, we met at the park and ride lot and then drove up to Pipeline Trail.  We went all the way out to the end of the trail.  It was so pretty because of all the changing leaves.  When we got back we went up the road a little bit and back to make it 10.  When I got home I did my crunches, pushups, and arm swings.
