Played basketball and vowed to retire.

Then ran 4 miles on the treadmill with a slight incline (my new thing) at 7:30-8:00 pace.

I'm really tired. I need to get more sleep and maybe take it easy on the next workout.

I retired from basketball last year.

Wise decision.

Nice run.

What happened with the basketball? I play with a good group in the mornings, everybody gets along and there are no problems and usually very few injuries. Still I'm always worried about turning an ankle or pulling a calve muscle like I did last year at this time. However, I keep playing, because it is something I really enjoy, probably even more than running.

I love church, but I can't stand church basketball. I can't stand the whining at the refs (who are novices) and cheap shots. I'm guessing it would be similar in a city league. If I could find a good group like yours, I think I would love it.

Yeah, I don't go play in the church league much anymore, even though it is better than it was. Last year they did away with the refs and now it is call your own foul, which works some of the time. Once the summer rolls around I won't be playing as much, because I usually have to get up early to get in some good miles running, because it is so hot during the day and even at night.
