I did 3 miles on the elliptical at a medium-hard effort. Then I ran 5 miles on the treadmill at 7:30 pace. It went a lot better than last night.

Steve, good job on the weight loss. You've been doing great lately. Starting a workout at 11 pm. I've been slacking a little this week. I've been really busy teaching a driver's ed class everyday after school, so by the time I get home I'm ready to just take it easy. I hope to get in a few decent runs to finish off the week. I still feel my speed is good, but I need to improve my endurance. I'll probably try to do another 20 miler this Saturday. Are you going to register for the St. George Marathon? Registration opened yesterday.

Thanks, it feels good to finally see some results on the weight loss. I realized that even though I have been running a lot, it is still possible for me to overeat. So I'm not forcing myself to starve, but I'm trying to make sure I don't overeat too much (like I did with all that spaghetti before the last race :). Sounds like your schedule is crazy right now. That long run should help a lot on Saturday. I'm going to mail my St. George registration soon. Hopefully I'll get in.
