Saturday's fall has caused me to limp ever since, but I think the damage was limited to bruising.  I had no problems running this morning.  In fact, I felt stronger than usual.  I ran 7.32 miles in 1:02:13, which is 8:30 per mile.  If I take off the 10:33 warm-up mile, my average pace was more like 8:10/mile.  I think the sprints at the end of my long run on Saturday helped and I'll have to start doing that regularly, at least for this week.

September is here and it is not hot any more.  In fact, I kind of wished I had had gloves this morning in the nippy 52 degrees.  The weather is the most interesting part of this report because I didn't feel like going fast today and I didn't want to push it.  I've been limping around due to Saturday's knee injury and I think it is changing my stride (for the worse) when I run.  Since I'm officially in my "taper", there is no reason to push it.  Training is over.  I just need to be careful not to get further injured and not to lose fitness.

Oh, yes 7.78 miles took me 1:13:23, which is 9:26/mi with an average heart rate of 138bpm.

The taper continues.  I took yesterday off to give my knee more recovery time.  My "long" run tomorrow will only be about 12 miles.  It is good September running weather at 55 degrees.  5.51 miles took me 48:30 with an average pace of 8:48/mile.  My pace increased as I went along.  Got up to a 6:15 pace for my strides at the end.
