Physical Therapist appt today at TOSH. Great guy, very helpful. Made me watch myself run in slow motion. Taught me how to run properly. Told me I have left side weakness (which I already know) and that is why my right hip and knee are trashed. Gave me some exercises to do to strengthen my hips and core. I've had left side weakness on and off for 10 years. Told by a neurologist after the birth of my second baby that I had "textbook MS". Not something anyone wants to hear. After a year of terrible neurologic symptoms and IV steroids, I gradually got better. My left side has never been the same and I still have problems with it every now and again. My left leg is so incredibly sore tonight after working on all of the strengthening exercises. My right leg feels great. He told me I need to run fewer miles, just do speed work and then cross train. It makes me a bit sad, but I am glad that I am as healthy as I am, and I qualified to run BOSTON! That is amazing since 10.5 years ago I went out for a one mile run dragging my left leg and crying the whole time until I reached my mile point. Life is never dull. Hope you all enjoy what you have! Ran one mile in 7:10.
