"In truth, runners don't race other runners.  They race against themselves: to conquer their wills, to transcend their weaknesses, to beat back their nightmares.  And while a runner can't actually beat himself, he can beat his time. Happy 4th of July!

It is overcast and a bit humid here in Salt Lake City today which is rare for July.  I felt better out running this morning.  Ran 10 in 1:30...I know, still sad!  I will be lucky if I come in under 1:50 for the Bryce Canyon half in a week and a half.  I guess I should just be grateful that I am out running and nothing is hurting on me right now!  It is nice to not run in heat and it sprinkled a bit on me here and there while I was out running today.

My hub and I went and played doubles tennis this afternoon with some friends of ours and we got poured on.  The court was a bit slick but we had a lot of fun.

We are now off for a bbq and fireworks.  I hope you are all enjoying your freedom on this great day!

How come you guys got rain today???

I think you will do just fine on your race. When you go out for a run, it is just not the same thing. You will surprise yourself. It may not be what you wanted, but i am sure you will do better than you think!

Dang injuries that slow us down, but it is only temporarily!

Hey don't worry, race day magic will happen. You can't judge what is going to happen in a race just by what happens in a long run.
