35 minutes on the elliptical.  The ankle is throbbing a little bit, but otherwise I'm feeling pretty good.  I think I was walking a little better today, too, so I might be able to run again by next week.  If I do, it'll probably be to the gym and home (1.5 miles round trip) and then maybe on Saturday.  I kind of want to make sure I'm up to it before I run again, though, because I don't really like being injured.  This is what happens when you go from being completely sedentary to running 2 miles a day.  I didn't want to start with 1 mile because it wasn't worth it to change my clothes to run a mile, but now I'm wishing that I had just done it.  Hopefully this will be a quick recovery and I can get back to training for Moab.

You are funny! I agree. I'd hate to get dressed for just one mile.

Great job Stacy! When I first started I often ran around 1.2 miles a day. It worked for me. Plus I never even tried to go fast--I usually ran with my little 6 year old.

P.S. I have a picture from St. George with you in it on my blog today.

I think you should be able to count elliptical miles since that's all you can do for now. Just my opinion. Good job doing what you can. I used to run just one mile when that's all I could handle. In fact, I started running around the block a couple times.

I usually follow Jack Daniels' rule of thumb and count x-training miles as 2/3 of running miles. So for example, if you run at about 10-minute pace, 15 minutes on the elliptical would be considered a "mile".

Stacy! So glad to see you back on here. I missed your post yesterday somehow...

Anyway, I think the elliptical is great and really got me through my two c sections. It really does help build up cardio without the impact of running. I credit any cardio/lung capacity I posses to the elliptical. I also love weight machines. I would weight train if I could afford a gym membership (gets pricey when you have to throw in a babysitter and a second membership for a jealous husband). Yoga does it for me now. anyway, I digress. Great job working out and staying in the game. I miss you though. We should do something non exercise related just to get together.

Hey- in case you don't post again before you guys take off...enjoy NYC! It's one of my favorite places and I'm way jealous you are going and get to watch the trials. Cheer extra loud for all of us!
