Bed magnet got Tiffany this morning, so I did my run alone. Wound up with 12.25 in 1:57. I think my nose ran even farther than that. Good run though. Had time to do a lot of thinking. Didn't solve any problems, but did a lot of thinking. Tomorrow starts my cycle for Bayshore. Didn't think about that at all, though.

Up at the crack o' chickens to run with the Sheris at Marketpace. Maintained a good 10:00 pace, then after they both finished, I did another 2.6 on my own, including strides. It was in the 40s, but there were snowflakes fluttering by. Wind was strong and constant; for once, it actually helped to run downwind, which I did for the strides. Running into it, another issue. So this was the first day of Bayshore training. In 81 days I'll be lining up in Michigan. Doesn't seem like much. Got a letter from Jen last night, and wrote back immediately. I was very happy to hear from her after a couple of weeks of no contact at all. My paranoia was unfounded. Can't wait to hear from her and, better yet, see her.

Did three miles on my own at 5, then joined the crew from Creekmore for another 8, then to La Huerta for dinner and silliness. The 11 went OK. I'm getting into shape pretty quickly. We'll see how another 11 on Friday goes, though, although I might bump that down so I have a chance to run fast Saturday morning.

Six on Phoenix with Tiffany this morning. Four at Chaffee with Sheri and Kathy L. And three with the Advanced WRA group. That, folks, is a triple. I believe that's my first triple. And I was feeling it afterward. Rachel S. led the post-run stretch and I was struggling with it (of course she's so damn limber it's ridiculous). The two runs at Chaffee were slow -- just what I needed. 10:07 with Sheri, close to 11:00 with the group. Staci put me out front, so I set the pace. If anyone had wanted to go faster, I would have, but no one did.

Slow and steady with Kathy L. to work out the kinks. It actually seemed to work this time. Feel much better now than I did when I got up. How will it feel in Conway in the morning? Stay tuned.

Very little sleep after taking Heidi to the track meet last night, and that 4:15 alarm was really early. In spite of that, dragged myself out, met the gang and drove to Conway. No taper and heavy/increased mileage for the last two weeks, so I hoped for sub-14 but wasn't sure if that was possible. Ran the first mile in 7:03, dawdled a 7:13 for the last mile. But I got into lung-burning territory, so I didn't leave a whole lot out there. I think I should have checked the Garmin more to monitor my pace though. I didn't think I slowed down in the second mile, but obviously the clock begged to differ. Had a lot of fun on the trip. Crazy Vickie kept things stirred up coming and going. Saw a lot of people I knew, which is always nice.
