Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

I hate it when I can't fall to sleep at night. Hopefully you don't have problems NOT falling asleep in the temple.

From Kelli on Thu, Apr 09, 2009 at 15:23:11 from 71.219.84.191

Rhett, that made me laugh!

From tarzan on Thu, Apr 09, 2009 at 15:33:38 from 63.255.172.2

I need to get to the temple one of these nights too. I am hoping to hear soon about working nights at Jordan River.

Thank you for posting your bib number!

Kelli - do bibs make you think of eating sugar cookies?

I love that this running blog is more than just about running. It's also about helping each other be better people. Smooth, keep sharing. You are a wonderful example to us all. Doone and I are heading to Vegas tomorrow night to go to the temple. I wish I had one in my backyard like you guys do.

From Kelli on Thu, Apr 09, 2009 at 17:39:43 from 71.219.84.191

Rhett, is Vegas the closest temple? Man, we are lucky. We will soon have 3 all within about 15 minutes, not to mention the other two that are within 25 minutes, and another 2 within maybe 35 minutes, and so on.

Maurine, NOPE! I am a clean eater, no bibs needed.

From Rhett on Thu, Apr 09, 2009 at 17:58:10 from 170.215.58.122

Yep, Vegas is closet. About 2hrs 45 min away. Mesa is next closest about 3 1/2 hours.

From rhett on Thu, Apr 09, 2009 at 17:58:41 from 170.215.58.122

I meant closest not closet.

How was Wicked??

It was good to see you and President ... even if it was just for a couple of minutes. I love you both!! :) (President made me laugh pretty hard tonight with his comment.) :)

Kathie, Rhett, Rachel and Kelli,

I count it one of my greatest blessings to be able to attend the temple weekly. We believe "all roads lead to the temple". We are fortunate to live in an area with temples all around us. The one GREATEST accomplishment or goal in my life above all else is to have all my children temple worthy. The day when I can greet everyone of my six children and their spouses in the Celestial room will be my happiest day. 5 down 1 to go!!!

Marion,

I will look at the shirts. THANKS!

Teena,

Wicked was wicked good! It's the best I've ever seen. There's love, comedy, tragedy, magic, suspense, dance, fights, flights, laughs and cries, good and evil. The two lead ladies are definitely soul-sister-friends. Their voices are incredible. The costumes and the set are SPECTACULAR! The orchestra is SUPENDOUS! It was FANTABULOUS!!! I wish you were there. We would have so much fun!

I did feel guilty about dashing off from the wedding . We barely made it to the theater to greet our guests. I hope Mark understands. He did wait for you to get back to your seat before starting the ceremony right? :-D
