Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

A WONDERFUL run with Maynard, Luz and RAD on the Lehi JRP under snowy sky.  RAD had gotten there earlier to get some miles done before our start time at 6:30am. How that girl get up so early and get some much done in a day is beyond me!

It was so cool to watch Chad Robinson ran stealthily ahead disappearing within 60 seconds; then floated smoothly by us 3 more times.  I seriously am in awe at how effortlessly and fluidly he runs!

The miles just flew by in the company of such GREAT friends!  Thank you for driving such long distance to run with me!  I would have wimped out if it weren't for you!!!

13.5 in 2:02:53.  AP: 9:06.  Perfect last MLR before Boston!!!

After a quick shower I went to a viewing and funeral of a neighbor.  It was an honor to be asked to do the music.  I used to give him subcutaneous injections.  I treasure the memories of visiting him and his wife over the years.  You would have never known he had terminal cancer for the last 4.5 years.  He always had a quick wit and sense of humor, a twinkle in his eyes with a sweet smile.  He and his wife were married for 65 years...theirs is a real life love story!

Then I went to the baptism of my neighbor's 75 y.o. mother who is Korean.  Her sons were converts over 30 years ago.  She was very opposed to their joining the church and serving missions.  What a joyful occasion for me to witness the baptism of this dear mother/grandmother.  While at the baptism, hubby and I saw a Korean couple who were our friends in the days when we were students at BYU some 30+ years ago!  Sweet reunion! :)

In the evening we attended our son's concert, 4th one in the last two weeks.  At the end of the concert we saw many friends among them a friend whose toddler was drowned while I was the R.S. president in the ward years ago.

I feel so very blessed that these great friends were so much a part of my life over the years!!!  The gospel is all about becoming Christlike and bringing people and families unto Christ.  I am so thankful for Christlike friends! :) :) :) :) :)

Smooth - Thanks for the compliments! You never really get to see yourself run so it is nice to hear it from someone else. There is no way I was going to get my run in if I didn't to with you all in the morning (so thanks again). Good luck in Boston. I am gearing up for my first marathon in Odgen.

Chad ~ It was a pleasure to have you come down to run that portion of the JRP! You have such awesome running form. You just glide! GOOD LUCK at Ogden! I am signed up for Ogden as well, hope to able to run it. I can't wait to read your report! :)

Mark ~ Thanks! Bryan is gifted! He is going to be our *starving artist* son. I have an assignment to write a personal bio about him and send it to the the BYU Performing Arts Management. It's due tomorrow. They asked for pic in jpg format and all I have is hard copy of his pics. Don't know what to do! Sorry for thinking out loud! :)

Teena ~ Thank you! I love you too! This is crunch week for me! I have so much to do and I just don't even know where to begin.
