Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Colder this morning with wind from NW.

Ran the first 2 miles west into the wind and uphill headwind.  Thought one day of rest would help...nope, the left vastus medialis complained.  Felt better when I picked up the pace a little.

After 5 miles, began the 100m strides.  I didn't program the new Garmin so just ran 0.06-0.07 mi for the strides, the pace range between 6:30-6:45 (best at 5:58).

Off to Post Office and may be get a haircut!

Holy speedy lady!! GREAT paces on those strides!! I agree on the wind...hope it's gone tomorrow.

Have fun with the hair cut and errands, I LOVE a new haircut (even if it looks the same). If you want to do 10-12 tomorrow I'm trying to recruit a party for Porter Rockwell at 7AM. I'd love to have your company!

I need to do 13 tomorrow. I'm always good for party. Same place at the Draper City Park at 7am then? Can't wait to see you!

Yup! You could probably do 14 in the time I do 10 :) It's 6 out, so that would just leave you a loop or so around the park while I get out some treats! YAY!!

Thanks everyone!

SSF ~ Yep, got a haircut...it's punk style! :) LOVE YOU! Miss you soooo much!

Rhett ~ Hmmm, not sure if it'd make me fast. My head is may be only 1 oz. lighter!

Kelli ~ Did your skirt come? I'm gonna wear my Boston garb tomorrow...all matchy matchy!

From Kelli on Sat, Apr 10, 2010 at 00:45:10 from 71.219.92.128

YES, it came today! I wore it for my run. The darn thing was falling off of me because the capris pull the skirt down. i am going to have to figure something out! Hopefully it will just be warm in Boston and I will not have to go with the plan B outfit! BUT, it is cute and purple and black (the plan A outfit is orange and grey). nothing like looking cute while you run!
