Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

180 years ago today on April 6, 1830, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was organized.   It was a humble beginning with a handful of members.  Today there are over 13,750,651 members throughout the world.  I am so very grateful to be a member of this church.  I know this Church is true.  I hope and pray that I will live worthy to be numbered among the disciples of Christ.

18 years ago today on April 6, 1992, my youngest child was born.  How time flies as I watched this wee baby grew up to be a fine young man.  We took him to the airport last night for a red-eye flight to New York City.  He's spending his 18th birthday on a plane and in the big city.  My husband and I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to raise him along with his five siblings.  We hope and pray that we will live worthy to be an eternal family.  I testify of the Savior's infinite love for us, of His atoning sacrifice.  He is the Son of God.  He lives!!!

I love you, SSF.

Thanks for the texts at midnight!!! :) I turn my phone on silence at night so I didn't hear them come in. You are so in touch with me. Just knowing that you care so much means the world to me right now. Nothing beats true friendship. I love you.

You amaze me.

Smooth, you really know how to make a pregnant woman cry! Being pregnant with my youngest son makes me SO emotional about even thinking about his 18th birthday. Hoping I raise him to be 1/2 the man your children are, since I'm not even a 1/4 of the amazingly, powerfully strong woman you are!!

Keep up the great work at home, at church and at play. We love you!!

You are indeed a great lady and never afraid to let your light shine! You are so beautiful and a great example to other women. I hold very dear some of the things you shared on our runs last year. You are indeed 'royalty' and a beloved daughter. Those of us who know you are blessed by your 'light'. Good luck to your capable young son on his 18th birthday!

From Smooth on Wed, Apr 07, 2010 at 17:12:33 from 174.23.201.210

Thanks everyone for allowing me to share a little piece of my heart.

Hey Coach Slick ~ Gary is doing well. His son, Alex who is just couple weeks younger than Steven, has lymphoma. It was diagnosed the weekend of SGM. He is responding well to chemotherapy, tough boy, a HS xcountry star. He's going to graduate from HS and attend BYU and continue his chemo treatment, a 2 years process, at Primary Children's.

The last I heard Gary is planning to run the Salt Lake City Marathon on April 17. He didn't sign up for Boston in time. He was hoping to get in the London Marathon.

We sure wish you were running Boston this year. We will miss you terribly!
