Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Nice mileage!!! I still can't figure out how you can run so many miles after skiing all day. Amazing!!!

Hope your husbands ankle heals up. That does not sound good.

I also hope the baby improves

Talk about a diehard! Hey, tell Larry to get better!

From Kelli on Fri, Dec 31, 2010 at 00:37:15 from 71.219.84.215

OH MY, I have missed out on so much this week not checking in on you! FIRST, I hope that everything gets going well with the baby very soon! When are you heading out there??? We will keep your family in our prayers.

I hope that Larry heals up, too! Was that just from skiing?

HOW on earth do you run 14 miles after a day of skiing??? Even LOST could not get me through that long of a day!

Smooth baby, you really are an animal!!!!Hey, what are you doing to ring in the new year.....doing a new years eve run or a new years day run or what?

I'm sure impressed with your dedication to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness ...

From Rhett on Fri, Dec 31, 2010 at 11:40:15 from 74.32.222.21

Smooth, tell Prez we hope he gets better soon. Doone and I think the world of him. We can't have a gimpy Prez.

Looks like you have been getting in some good miles this week even with so much going on. It's amazing how you always seem to get in your running.

Great job with everything you have going on.

Dale ~ THANKS!!! Hubby's ankle pain is better today. Hopefully the worst is over. Baby Jett is still in the hospital. We just take one day at a time.

Kelli ~ The ankle injury is from skiing. The thing is he skiied very conservatively with me this time and only did a few mogul runs. His INR (test to measure his blood clotting time) was high; so I'm sure that contributed to some internal bleeding.

I am heading to TX on Wed. That is the soonest I can leave b/c Steven has dentist appointment to extract his 4 wisdom teeth on Tue. He has physical exam for his mission paper on Mon. We try to get his mission application and interviews done before he heads back to school after the holiday break. Wish I could clone 2 of me to take care of everyone! :)

Slick ~ You must've finished the Beat the New Year 5K by now as I type this! Can't wait to read your race report! I "rang" in the New Year with my family and extended family in a hotel as we traditionally do every year. It was a lot of fun. I will probably run my usual long run on New Year Day, depending on how wimpy I'll be!

Rhett ~ THANK YOU for your kind wishes. I will tell Larry! You and Doone are his favorite people!

I got most of my runs done late in the night this week on the TM, that's how! It's gonna be tricky the next couple weeks when I'm at the daughter's.

Flat ~ I am so excited for your marathon tomorrow! GOOD LUCK!!! You're gonna do AWESOME! I really want to run that one one of these years!

Clones would be good, but you always seem to get everything done!!!!
