Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Another nice day for outside running! :)  Had a yogurt & EmergenC before going for a 10 mile progressive run.  The legs were lead and everything hurts for the first couple miles.  Next 3 miles were easy, tried to be patient.  The last 3 took some focus to not get lazy.  Concentrated on one proprioceptive cue, Navel to Spine, during the middle miles.

10.5 in 1:41:33.  Splits:  11:23 (yikes!), 10:48 (ouch!), 10:07, 9:55, 9:44, 9:33, 9:20, 9:11, 8:55, 8:30, 8:00.

I find that the nice thing about running in the 30's is I don't need to drink or fuel for 10 miles.

Stretch, yoga.

Jazz game tonight!

excellent progressive run. Starting out slow and working our way up - you did it perfectly, but would we expect any less from you?

VERY jealous of your nice outdoor runs in the sunshine.

Are you enjoying the Jazz game? I can hear it in the background. Ry and Payton seem to be enjoying it. :)

Missing you like crazy.

Rachel ~ Sorry you were cooped up w/ sick baby. We need to have a group run soon with or without sunshine! :)

Kathie ~ Thanks! Sure miss you tons!

allie ~ I was hoping to run the Texas Marathon on New Year's, but it doesn't look like I'll make it there. My next marathon is most likely Boston which is 18 weeks and 3 days away! :) I'm just ramping up some base miles.

Nancy ~ unfortunately Jazz lost. It was an exciting game though.

Tim ~ THANKS! :)

SSF ~ You know I go to these games for the food at the Sports Club! We had some special guests, a lovely Chinese couple who are big-time business owners from Moab. It was also really neat that President Monson and Elder Ballard were next door to us. I had as much fun watching the game as watching Pres Monson eats. Larry & I wondered what he was drinking...some kinda dark soda! :) It was really fun to watch L. James glide across the court effortlessly. Wish you and Ry were our guests. I miss you terribly! When are we going to have some SSF time?!!! GOOD LUCK w/ finals!

Toby ~ THANKS!

Scott ~ I promise the miles will start to decrease! Thank you!

Smoothie....If you ever need some guests at the Jazz games, let me know, we would love to join you. (wink wink)

Dale ~ Ummm! Too bad I don't have much say in who gets the tickets. Hubby is obligated to bring customers, so that excludes our own children even though they ARE bank customers! :) :) :)

Well, it was worth a shot. ;)
