Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Smotohie, I'm glad you had a good time with your family in SoCal.

How come you haven't seen your little sister for 12 years? I thought only my family was like that. I also have a sister that I haven't seen for 12 years, but that's by choice. I have another sister that I haven't seen for 6 or 7 years, also by choice (they aren't the nicest people to be around, Nasty and mean, and caused many problems with Amy!!!)

Hi Dale!!! I haven't seen my little sister for so long because she lives in Toronto Canada. She and her three little daughters traveled to SoCal where my older sister lives 11+ years ago when I happened to be there. That was the first and last time she came to the US. She doesn't speak English and has no desire to come to Utah which would be very boring to her. One of these days I need to go to visit her. It's just that my life was so busy and filled with raising 6 kids that I hardly had time to travel. I have always been closer to my older sister than my younger sister...but we love each other and keep in touch nevertheless! :)

Sorry to hear that your sisters are not close to you at all. Life is too short to drift apart from family members! Hope things will change for them and they will come around and be nice to you and Amy! :)

Well that's good you keep in touch with your little sister.

I have two other sisters. I'm really close with my baby sister. she lives in Idaho. We text all day, every day. The sister I haven't seem for 12 years lives in Texas and the one I haven't seen for 6 or 7 years lives in West Jordan. It has always bothered me that most of up Brent close, but it needs to be this way. They both did terrible things to me and Amy. Stuff I'd rather not mention.

How is your injury coming along? Better, hope....and same with Larry.

From Smooth on Tue, Nov 27, 2012 at 22:41:56 from 67.2.119.62

Larry's ankle is getting better. He kept his run short and easy. My ITB or whatever it is that hurts at the top of my right fibula is about the same. I can feel the pain during warm up or running downhill. Then it goes away until I've been sitting for too long and it seems to lock up. I just need to do those things Teena suggested more diligently! :)

Thanks for checking in on me! Have a good night! :)
