Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Only had time for 5.26 miles w/ Wendy.  Babysat Kesley & Devin while their daddy went to bring mommy and the new baby home.  Was fun playing with the kids all morning.

Got to make a few phone calls then to the grocery store then make dinner for them.  Hope I can make it to visit another non-member family this evening.  Hope Lowell and Alex and Aimee are okay.  Love this beautiful Fall weather!

great miles and way to get them in before the crazy morning started. Sounds like you've been having fun playing 'grandma' to these little ones!

I'm so glad to see you back on the blog posting some running. Not that I thought you weren't running. But like I said it's good to see you.

I'm glad you got to have some grandma time... it's the best!!

You never slow down do you Smooth?

I hope your toes are less sore today than Monday. I thought about your feet this morning while I was in the tub looking at mine. I've never lost a toenail until recently...I haven't lost it yet, but it's really black. I hope your are just sore, because when they turn black it's pretty ugly. Good getting 5+ miles in plus all your good deeds for the day :)

Rachel ~

It was very tiring playing "nanny". Those little buggers are SO SMART! Don't know how young mothers do it these days.

Hey Lori ~

HI! How are you? Long time no see! It was fun doing "grandma time". I felt so lucky to be the first one to welcome that new baby home and watch her big sister and brother react to having a new baby in their house. It made me miss my own grand kids though. It was a wonderful moment!

Kathie ~

Yep! It was a busy day. But a good kind of busy. The kind where you realized you hadn't showered yet and you didn't care that you stink because you're glad you could be there for someone. Just got home from visiting Lowell...too late to shower now! There's always tomorrow.

Rhett ~

I hadn't gotten a speeding ticket yet...knock on wood! Hehe!

Hey Luzy ~

THANKS for remembering my toes! The pinky toes are not sore any more. The big toes are just a little tender. I'm wearing flip-flop type sandles. The toenails were purple, now they're turning black. I'll just tape them up good if they start to fall off when I run Hoover Dam next Sat. I think black toe nails are cool!
