Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

7 EZ w/ K, W & C.  Gorgeous running weather! :)

Had fun visiting teaching!  Everyone has Halloween decorations on their porches.  When I got home from visiting teaching, there was a freshly carved pumpkin on my porch! Someone must have felt sorry that I didn't have any!  :)  :)  :)

How fun! I'd love someone to drop off decorations on my porch :) Luckily, the kids are getting old enough they like to do it themselves.

Nice job getting out in this gorgeous weather for a few good miles.

Question...how do you sign up for the Grand Slam and when do you have to do it by?

James always decorates our house for Halloween. The boys pulled out the boxes Saturday and now I have a mess in my living room but the house is still not decorated! Oh well at least they tried.

That's so cute that someone carved you a pumpking. Our weather is finally starting to change. My run last night was heavenly.

When you get finished decorating you house you can come and do mine.

I am so proud of your 1st in the slam - I just noticed that finally. I am so excited for Boston. Teena can always come as a cheerleader. We have a pretty good cheer section if I don't say so myself!!

Have a wonderful Halloween season. We can't carve pumpkins until the day before because it is too warm and they wilt and shrivel and mold.

Rachel ~ Last year Wasatch Running Center sent out email to let us know when registration for Grand Slam 2010 would open...and it was by lottery...lame, I know! I was in Texas when it opened and so I had Larry faxed in my registration form. I just checked WRC's website and there was no update yet. I will let you know when I hear anything from them.

Kathie ~ I don't do decorations. When the kids were home, they did it. I am sure that's why some kind souls put a carved pumpkin on my porch.

Rhett ~ I am so glad you're finally getting some nice weather for running.

Nancy ~ Nope, I don't do decoration. If and when I dust or clean house...my family ask if we're having company! LOL

Doone ~ I think the reason why Teena missed the registration is because Ry wasn't planning on coming to cheer. Wouldn't that be AWESOME if Teena would come and cheer?! But I doubt that would happen! She wouldn't want to miss school for that!

Oh, wilting shrivel up moldy pumpkins would be disgusting...but so is Halloween! I am NOT a Halloween type! I like Thanksgiving and Christmas though! :)

Energizer bunny, you just keep going and going.

Huge smile on my face!!! :) :) :)

Oh man ... seriously, how cool is that?

Love and miss you!

You ready for Saturday?

From Smooth on Wed, Oct 20, 2010 at 12:45:59 from 67.41.235.104

SSF ~ I am not ready for Sat. There are residual tightness/soreness in my quads but I think they will be fine since trail running is gentler and much slower. I do need to make a list and go shopping...food for Larry since there won't be any fancy restaurants; bandaids and stuff! Miss you tons! :)

Sounds like the planning for this long treck is going to just as fun as running it. I can't wait to hear all about it.
