Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Looks beautiful!!!!!

From Smooth on Fri, Oct 08, 2010 at 17:13:27 from 67.41.235.104

Paul ~ The one w/ me in it was taken w/ the camera's 10 sec timer. The camera was perched on a broken tree stump. The second pic...umm...I was running towards my friends...10 sec was not long enough to navigate over slippery rocks and bogs...thus they were laughing. :D

Kathie ~ The Fall colors are beautiful. I love this time of the year in the mountains. Such a blessing to live in UTAH! :) How are you doing? How's James across the ocean?

From Kelli on Fri, Oct 08, 2010 at 18:26:27 from 71.219.65.246

I broke a pair of sunglasses at Stewart Falls this year. I like the fall foliage... Maybe that's where I'll go for my run tomorrow.

From DonGardinero on Fri, Oct 08, 2010 at 23:45:11 from 152.216.7.5

Looks like a fun time was had by all.

Kelli...UVM registration is open.

From Kelli on Sat, Oct 09, 2010 at 17:30:48 from 71.219.65.246

Already? GEESH....I so do not want to think about that right now. Okay, now I must decide----Ogden again or UVM. I dunno.

From RAD on Sat, Oct 09, 2010 at 18:14:06 from 67.172.229.125

Hike looks beautiful! I'm glad you're still taking some recovery from the marathon.

Kelli, I say UVM - I think I'm leaning that way :) Purely selfish reasons for you to decide that way!

From leslie peterson on Sat, Oct 09, 2010 at 18:43:01 from 174.52.158.81

Beautiful!!!!! You girls look amazing in those fall colors!!! I still need to do Stewart Falls.

So, did you get trail shoes yet?? I am wearing some with holes, so sexy!

From Nancy on Sat, Oct 09, 2010 at 21:49:33 from 76.27.19.206

Wow what beautiful pictures!!! I've never heard of Stewart Falls.

From Smooth on Sat, Oct 09, 2010 at 22:41:38 from 67.41.235.104

Kelli ~ Should have registered at the SGM Expo...could've saved the on-line registration fee! So did you register? Are you running it w/ him? You can totally run both Ogden and UVM! Why not do the Grand Slam? :)

allie ~ How did your 5K go? Was gone all day so I'm going to check on your race report in just a sec.

Mike ~ THANKS! I'd love love love to have you join us on one of our group runs. Hope all goes well w/ your knee recovery.

Maynard ~ Sorry about your sunglasses. It was overcast and got sprinkled on a bit w/ rain and tiny hail pellets but was nice...no sunglasses needed. It was perfect running/hiking weather. Hope you got up to the canyon today.

Rachel ~ Like I told Kelli...You can do BOTH Ogden and UVM!

Leslie ~ No I ddin't get my trail shoes. WRC and Fleet Feet don't have any trail shoes my size. I'm gonna check Runner's Corners or buy one on-line. I don't know anything about trail shoes.

Nancy ~ Steward Falls is a nice easy hike. The trail head is in Provo Canyon by Aspen Grove. Some maples haven't changed colors yet so plenty time to enjoy more Fall colors! :)
