Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Beautiful morning after a night's rain.  Cool, calm, partly sunny sky.  Ran with Leslie, Wendy, Stephanie and Sarah (Ben's girlfriend).

Been having this pain in my left upper chest since last Sat.  not sure if it's muscle or stress fracture or just arthritis.  But it hurts to breath deeply or do any pushing, lifting; also hurts with touch.  It is localized.  Pain scale about 4.

Hey, your the nurse! Ya! I was admiring your list of marathons for 2015 on your way to 60 by 60.....very impressive! Stay healthy and well and keep the focus!

I hope that by the time you are reading this that you are feeling MUCH MUCH MUCH better!! Have you been sick? Sounds a lot like costochondritis. I hope you are taking care of yourself (I know that you have the tendency to take care of others and sometimes forget about your own needs). Miss you.

Teena ~ funny you suspect costochondritis. That is precisely what Larissa said I may have. Good news is it responds well to Aleve.

Love that you understand me so well.

It has been a crazy busy summer. Thank you for your generous gift to Steven and his bride. It helps them tremendously as both are still going to school and renting in Provo.

I have had various family members and our returned missionaries staying at my house this summer. Tonight Larissa and her family left and are now in St. George for a week. Tomorrow night Bryan flies back from Boston. He will fly to Japan in a few days. He will be there for at least a year. Such is my life with grown children coming and going.

Have I mentioned to you that Larry is put on the transplant list as of July 15? So very happy that he qualifies for transplant. The last 15 months have been hard. But he is still alive and staying very positive! I love you!
