Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

A rainbow over Utah Lake greeted hubby and I as we headed out the door for a short run.  :)  Much cooler but muggier this morning.  We went to the temple while Lowell was just getting up.  Took Lowell to AF HS after lunch so he could exchange the Sogonapmit race shirts.   It made me all sad again to be at the packet pick up of yet another marathon that I have to miss this year.  I am determined to get back at it.  Although my goal of running 12 marathons this year is not obtainable, I still hold out hopes that I can run some Fall marathons.

Plan to run up to AF Canyon from my house tomorrow morning and then run Lowell and Marci to the finish, hoping to get in 16 miles.

Smoothie, it makes me sad, too. It'll be nice of you to run people in at the end.

Hey Dale ~ I saw your bib at the packet pick up. Made me think of you, my friend! Hope you are on target for SGM.

Okay ... you can be sad if you need to be sad ... we all need to be sad at times. But then be happy again! :)

LOVE YOU!

What was wrong with Lowell's shirt??

I will look for you at the finish line if I am still there! I so wish we were running the marathon again, that was so much fun. I am sad with you on that one. BUT you will be back at it very soon---16 miles tomorrow! YIPPEE!!!

Teena ~ 90/10 is my happy/sad ration these days! :) So what are you doing tomorrow and the rest of your break?

Kelli ~ they gave Lowell a woman shirt and Marci's shirt needs to be one size bigger. I love the shirts. The Nike dry-fit gender specific shirts are my all time favorites. They are true to size AND I love that they have xs. :)

I can't wait to see how you do tomorrow. You are going to take podium. No pressure though! :)
