Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Hubby had no meeting last night so we went to movie (got to spend the movie vouchers I won at AF Canyon 1/2) and a late night snack at Chick-fil-A!  ♥ Life is sweet! :)

Met up with Carolyn and Karen.  They wanted to run the RR trail.  We took the first couple downhill miles easy as warm up.  Then picked up the pace on the 3 uphill miles and cool down the last mile.  Very proud of Karen and Carolyn on their good solid effort.  Carolyn is feeling more confident for Saturday's RHPC!

How was the movie? Sounds like a fun date night!

From Smooth on Thu, Jul 14, 2011 at 13:08:03 from 67.2.104.79

It was good! Larry likes the title of the movie! :) Nice to have a date night in the middle of the week! :)

How are you and Doone doing?

From Kelli on Thu, Jul 14, 2011 at 13:40:55 from 71.219.75.108

WHICH movie did you see???? What was the treat at chick-fil-a? They have the best ice cream ever!

Good luck this weekend! HAVE FUN!

From Smooth on Thu, Jul 14, 2011 at 13:44:06 from 67.2.104.79

Larry Crowne starring Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts. We had the usual chicken nuggets, chicken sandwich and mango shakes! YUM!

From Kelli on Thu, Jul 14, 2011 at 13:47:44 from 71.219.75.108

Mango shakes??? They do not have those at ours! We have banana (not so good) and peach (very good), but no mango!

Good to hear about the movie, I wondered if it was good. I love Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts, two of my favorites.

From Smooth on Thu, Jul 14, 2011 at 13:52:25 from 67.2.104.79

Wait, it was peach, not mango. I had mango chicken salad for lunch so got confused!

The movie is very Tom Hank. They are funny! I think you'll enjoy it. There is one naughty word though!

Lots of starts and smiley faces!!! :)

I love chick-fil-a as well. Sounds yummy right now. I like a different sauce for each nugget. :) :) :)

(Oh yeah, and I love their lemonade!)

Love you.

Great running today; good luck on Saturday.

Larry Crowne...was it as much of a chick flick as it appears to be? :)

(just making my rounds and hope to be on the blog more often as SGM approaches and my miles start to increase.)

From RAD on Fri, Jul 15, 2011 at 10:33:32 from 76.27.16.189

Sounds like a great date after a great run! I'm glad you are feeling good and getting spoiled well! You certainly deserve it. Good luck this weekend down in Cedar, we will miss you at RHPC!!

Oh Teena, that is too crazy! My hubby always makes fun of me because I get 4 different sauces for dipping fun :) I love chick-fil-a sauce as much as the chicken!

From glidergirl on Fri, Jul 15, 2011 at 14:47:12 from 155.97.238.134

I haven't been to Chick-fil-A for seriously 15 years at least. Sounds like I need to go and I also need to try Teena and RAD's strategy. Sounds yummy! They are building one about 3.5 miles from here (on 21st south in Sugarhouse). We may just try it out! Glad you're running well and having fun. :)
