Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

I was baptized 38 years ago today, one of the happiest days of my life.  I have been watched over and blessed tremendously.  Today I feel loved and blessed beyond measure.  I can never repay all the kindness and grace that have heaped upon me over the years.

Went to the House of the Lord bright and early with two wonderful friends whom I believe were put in my life for a purpose.  I love them for who they are and admire them for all that they do.  THANK YOU for sharing your time and friendship with me!!!

No running today, the quad pain is about all gone.  The left knee is stiff after sitting and tugs just a tiny little when I go down the stairs.  I'm apprehensive about running UVM tomorrow.  In 24 hours it will be over and I will know if it was foolish thing to do or I may get lucky.

We're going to do great tomorrow, Smoothie. No worries. I'm glad the quad pain is almost gone.

Dale,

THANKS! I'm glad you slept in this morning. You better be doing a lot of talking to keep me going tomorrow.

Kristi,

That was the best thing. I shall always treasure those memories.

Teena,

Thanks for your vote of confidence. I will remember to have fun...NOT race...run! LLL LLL LLL LLL :)

Nancy,

Hi there? How's Duke? How are your daughters? Thanks for the kind words.

I will do my best, Smoothie. Same to you. Get plenty of rest today.

You will do fine. Heck - you made it through Ogden when I wussed out.

See you in the morning!

Maurine,

Sometimes I think I'm really an idiot asking for punishment. I wouldn't say you wussed out. That is so not true. You are smart to hold back so that you WILL have a running season. And look at you now. You are a great example to me...sherpa a friend and be there every step of the way. You are a TRUE friend! I appreciate your support and the understanding you've shown me. See you in the morning!

You will be in my thoughts tomorrow... either way running or not. :)

From Bec on Fri, Jun 12, 2009 at 22:38:24 from 67.177.35.60

Good luck tomorrow Smooth. For some reason, I am not worried about you one bit.

It is so cool that you were baptized 38 years ago today. What better way then to go the temple. I think a little marathon helps celebrating that too :).

Not sleeping yet. Got home an hour ago from dinner at Brick Oven's with Marion, Maurine, Annalees (Marion's co-worker), Josse and her sister and Luzy Lew. The line at the packet pick up was so long and so was the wait at Brick Oven.

Just got done writing to my missionary. Will do last min. prep. then I'll go to bed. I am very very tired. I should sleep good. THANKS Teena for taping my knee up good. LOVE YOU!
