Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Easy 10K this morning, TT 52:52

Right now I'm posting this in an Apple store on the Magnificent Mile in downtown Chicago. Jeffers made me come in from the rain to check out this really cool MacBook Pro.  So I'm trying it out.

There are some cool running paths here but I didn't try them yet.  Did a ton of walking all over Millenium Park and downtown.  Chicago is so cool.  Too bad the marathon is  on a Sunday.

Well, I'll be heading home tomorrow afternoon.  Hope everyone's well and staying cool and running injury-free.

Hope you are enjoying yourself. I'm glad you got to see two sons. If you see the building at 150 N. Michigan Ave. that looks like the top was sliced off at an angle - that is the building I worked in for several years.

Maurine,

Yes, I saw that building. It's to the west of the Prudential building. I asked Jeffrey what's the name of that building...he didn't know. Wow, downtown Chicago is quite an exciting place to work in. I love all those buildings, so many interesting ones. It really is an architectural haven.

Marc,

It was fun to visit Chicago. It rained everyday I was there. I even some some runners running on the busy streets/sidewalks in downtown, crazy!

Teena,

Eating out everyday the last 3 days in Chicago was fun; but so bad for me. O well! Can't wait to get together with you soon. LLL LLL LLL

RPaul,

I made it home safely. I like city life but I love country living in little Lehi.

Kelli,

Oh, I miss you guys and running. Can't wait to see you soon.

Kathie,

Did I hear you have a hammie issue? Hope you're healing well.

Rachel,

It's fun to run in different cities, even when it's just a little. It rained everyday I was at Chicago. So good to be back to the high dry Utah. Hope to see you soon.

Did you see Oprah while you were visiting the "Windy City?"
