Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

My bunion still bugs so I wore the Elixir since the overlay on the Inspire cuts across the bunion. I only have two pairs of running shoes since I shipped the others to Australia.

Ran easy on the MC trail with John and Wendy. Gorgeous cloudless blue sky day! The wild flowers on the side of the trails are beautiful, red poppies, purple and blue flowers...lots of field swallows fluttering to and fro building their nests in the trail tunnels. I am going to really miss this trail for the next three years and the majestic mountains.

FOUR weeks left!!!!

so glad you're able to get in a little running before the big move. Will you be able to do a JRP early morning Saturday? I would love to come up for a little run. I'm feeling a lot stronger than I felt last fall and would love to join you guys one last time before the MISH.

Nancy ~ Yes, I hope to be able to find the time to run. Missionaries are encouraged to exercise 30 min. a day. I just won't have time to train for any race!

Rachel and Becca ~ I am going to miss you girls a lot too! Lots of good things are going to happen in your life the next three years and it will go by super fast! :)

Rhett ~ every run is a beautiful gift to me! :)

Hey Slick ~ you will always be "my coach" no matter how many marathons I've run and yes, you will surpass my number of marathons in NO time! Come run the Sydney Marathon in Sept. Gary is running it this year!

Carina ~ 3 weeks left, time's a flying!!! :). I certainly will miss seeing your happy smiling face out running here!

Luz ~ I am so happy to hear you are feeling so much better and are stronger! yes! Do come run with us this Sat. It may be the only Sat, I will be able to run with you! Next Sat. (8th) my baby is coming home from his mission. I am hoping to be organized enough that I can go run Utah Valley as I have a deferment from last year. The Sat after that I will be busy getting ready for our farewell which is really Steven's homecoming. My oldest two are running the AF Canyon Half that day (15th) so I will go cheer them and may be run the last 5K with them. Then We go into the MTC the Sat after that (22nd).

So this Sat, is IT! come run with us (Wendy, John and Karen). We plan to run 10-13 starting at 7am, probably from my house onto the new Murdock Canal Trail. There are drinking fountains every 1-2 miles.
