Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Legs are a bit swollen but not as bad as post-Boston.  Minimal soreness.

Went to my SSF's home to play.  We took turns riding her stationary bike and elliptical.  I don't know anyone who can multi-task like her!!! :) :) :)  She was talking to me, blogging, answering Rhett's questions, working out, all at the same time! :-)  Then we did abs (ouch!) and yoga.   Then we went to Wasatch Running Center to buy compression sleeves.  Hope it helps solve my cramping issue.  We then went shopping at Costco where we had *free lunch* before stopping at Sports Authority for some resistance bands.

15 min EZ bike

15 min EZ elliptical

THANK YOU SSF for such a FUN FUN FUN day!  I LOVE YOU!!!  Oh, I'm wearing the compression sleeves!  I LOV'EM!!!

HAVE A GREAT WEEK everyone!!!  :) :) :)

Well super woman, how are you today? Have you got Charlie back in the box yet? You should up your calcium/mag intake.....and don't forget your daily vinegar intake.

That is awesome. I am sure you will love the new sleeves. And I also wore my compression tights. When I got home and wow did they help with recovery. They were my thermal ones so it was a bit warm. I am for sure going to be looking for more of that gear. It really helps alot on the run and after with recovery.

Cant wait to hear how you like the sleeves once your legs are back to normal on a normal run.

Glad things are going well post race and that you and Teena had time to spoil each other!! I love costco 'free' meals :)

You'll have to let us know how those compression sleeves end up working!

Great post race exercises. I read your blog on Saturday and I am concerned about you Smooth. Please be careful. Your time was absolutely beautiful. Yet another BQ for you with a lot of time to spare! Take it easy. Hope to see you runnin' around these parts!

You girls rock!

Can't wait to hear how the sleeves do. You don't seem to have problems with Charlie on your long runs, just in your races..what's up with that? Maybe you need to eat/drink what you do on your training runs. Maybe it's the pace? I'm sure you'll figure it. Those two trips to the med tent would scare me...you keep coming back for more! Enjoy a little time off.

C'mon SSF ... where is the update? I know what you did yesterday, but not today!!!

I'm starving? When are you up for a harem luncheon?

Love you!

I'm glad you have a fun day with your SSF.

What is and SSF? Why do you need compression sleeves?
