Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

No running today.  Really enjoyed doing the Stake's Mini-MTC.  Felt like back in the mission again.  Earlier this week we had 15 sisters and 2 elders returned home after completing honorably their missions from Australia Sydney South.  We love and miss each and everyone of these good and faithful missionaries SO very much! :)

Ordered a pair of Bird and Cronin Splint from Amazon, the same kind Beth let me borrow while in TX.  It seemed to help...no pain with first step out of bed!

I'm not liking these posts Smooth! PF is NO GOOD! I hope your split come soon and those feet heal right up!

Glad to hear about your good spiritual day though! Heal up friend!

I hope this new night splint does the job for you. PF is no fun. Even with it you still ran a lot more miles than I did last week. :)

Nancy- congratulations to your granddaughter on her mission call. Do you know if it is the Sydney North or the Sydney South Mission? the North mission president is Pres. Howes. He and his wife Judy are from Adelaide Australia, wonderful friends and great mission parents. We served as the South mission, now it is presided by Pres. Back. He and his wife are from Sandy! Your granddaughter will love Sydney. It is a huge melting melting pot, lovely people from all over the world. It really is the best mission in the world. We'd give anything to be able to go back.

Toby - thank you. Can't wait to see how you enjoy Buffalo 50. You are so ready!

Rhett - I shouldn't be running on it. I am going to Tucson to babysit my three grandkids so Eric and Marianne can go for career interview in NM. So I won't be running. Hopefully the splint will arrive by the time I get home in Utah on Sat. and do the magic. I really need it to get better by April 18! :)

I am at the departure gate heading to Tucson via Phoenix as I type this and rolling my Plantar Facia on the rubz ball like crazy. This no running is driving me crazy and the PF is worst w/ sitting and no activity.

From Nancy on Mon, Mar 16, 2015 at 19:13:37 from 24.10.168.18

I'm sorry about the PF. I've had it before and it is very hard to get over. I will ask my grand daughter which Sydney Mission she is going to.

How about an update on your PF situation...

From Smooth on Thu, Mar 26, 2015 at 15:47:56 from 71.219.158.9

Nancy ~ I am SO EXCITED for your granddaughter going to the Sydney South Mission. That was our mission, the BEST mission in the world. When is she reporting to the MTC!!! Pres. and Sis. Back are going to love her!!! :)

Slick ~ the PF is improving. I don't have that sharp pain with the first step out of bed in the morning any more. With that said, they are not 100%! I need to be diligent in rolling and stretching my calves daily and ease back into running.
