Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

March 4th!!! (I love the sound of that)

It 'sposed to be rest day.  But, I have to take my rest day on the day with a zillion things to do.  Today I only have a billion things, so no rest...gotta MARCH FORTH!  My feet were not happy having spent 3 hours in heels walking around Nordstrom greeting/meeting some hot-nobbers last night.  I didn't buy anything.  But the foods and drinks were fab.  I ate way too much.

I ran the first 5 miles down and up the long hill.  It was warm.  The next 6 miles were run with fierce sidewind...still cleaning out dirt from my ears.  The last 0.5 mile was inside a wind tunnel...the legs are churning but t'was like on treadmill...going nowhere.  Man, was I happy to hear the Garmin beep 11, so I could stop and get out of this "gerbil wheel cage" and walked 0.25 mi home.

11 miles in 1:44:34.  AP: 9:30.  (4 miles were exactly at 9:26, must have been on auto-pilot mode).

The big tendons on top of the ankles (at the crook), especially the left one, got pretty sore.  It is still red, swollen and tender to touch, STINKS.  I had to stop twice during the run to re-lace and adjust the shoes tongues.  I wonder if the top of the shoes (except the tongues) shrink after they're well broken in.  Hmm?

Did Wk 4 Day 2 Column 3 PC: 19, 19, 22, 22, 18, 18, 22.  With burning deltoids, shaky arms,  I eeked out 45.  So glad I didn't buckle under.  Day 3 looks like a killer!!!

Smooth,

Really nice run. Sounds like it's been pretty windy in the valley. The wind hasn't picked up so much out here.

Way to go on the push ups. I need to follow your lead. Lately I have been dragging big time with the running and my push ups. I'm trying to baby the injury, but it's turning me into a lazy thing!

I think you should have worn your running shoes with your fancy outfit last night. I looked for you on the TV, but couldn't find you.

Great run today, the wind was miserable, we had it up our way too!

Smooth you are confused. Its week 5 I am sure since that is just what I did today too. We are on the same week and days. :) One more week and we are going to be doing our 100 WOOT WOOT. Great job in the wind tunnel today too.

Hey I used to get pain on my foot right there until I learned a new way to tie my shoes so they could be tight on my ankle but loser across the top. I am not sure how to describe it though. Next time we are at the same race maybe I could show you... really you are the running guru I am sure you already know about it.

Oh smooth I can't believe you ran in this wind! You are an animal, and you did 11! I'm suprised you did go anywhere or didn't just blow away all together, I could've sworn it was a tornado a few times. Great job on the run and your PC is AMAZING! I really want to put together a 'gun show' for all of you who are doing this challenge and see you all do your 100! OH YEAH! I smell a party coming on....

OH MY HECK!!!! You are up to 45 push ups already! You are gonna hit that 100 easy! You are amazingly strong, you tiny little thing! I obviously quit, but Scott and I are going to restart the program next Monday. I think it is a great program, I just never make it very far without quitting!

So, what time are you planning on for Saturday? Scott and I will be there.

You might want to tie your shoes differently if your feeling pain like that on the top of your foot. I'm sure you know this already but you can find that info on the RW website.

I hope it is just a shoe adjustment and not something that is going to cause problems. Way to "march forth!"

YOU ARE AMAZING! Has anyone ever told you that? Well you are! Good job w/ your push up challenge and your runs! You just keep going, I love to read your blog and hear about your little details about your runs. Push-ups are getting harder for me as they increase , , ahh, , , , But you are motivation, keep it up!
