Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Karen and I must've lived right!  Another lucky window of opportunity to run outside.  Temp was in the low 30s, calm, cloudy and relatively fresh air as we could see the mountains and foothills.  We ran to the Elementary school at mile 4 for a quick drink then to the eternal fountain at the Alpine Park mile 6.2 to gu, drink and potty break.  Continue east and north in Alpine and turned around at mile 7.75 and head back the same way with the same two stops for drink.  Perfect weather and condition to run.  When we finished we walked a bit and saw that it was snowing in Alpine where we had run earlier.  Now it is a whiteout blizzard out there!!!  :)

This morning was some of the best weather we've had in a LONG time! A perfect window for a couple of perfect runners to enjoy a perfect run together. I'm jealous. Wanted to get out, but hit the gym for the day care. I certainly enjoyed the sweet snuggle time I got afterward though, so I won't wish it away.

Rachel ~ Where are you planning to run your b'day 33 miler next Fri. We know we can't keep up your pace; but may be if it's a loop or some sort we could join you for part of the run. We need to do 20 next week then taper for Phoenix. :)

Smooth, I was thinking if you wanted to, you could run the last 10 miles toward us, then meet us and finish up with us. I will be going plenty slow those last 10 miles!! We can certainly work something out. We are starting at 8AM and then I'm figuring with stops we'll be done by 2PM. So, maybe you want to do the last 20 with us? Meet around 10? I'm sure we can figure something out. The course isn't a loop, kind of snakes around from my house to Daybreak, along the corridor and then to Riverton at the JRP is the finish. So, I'm sure we can figure it out!! Lets do it! :)
