Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Had a JulieC-TM-accident moment resulting with 4 quarter size owies on my knees.  Thankfully my daughter-in-law Marianne was ellipticalling next to me and stopped the moving menacing TM in time before further damage was done. :)  When we got back on our machines, Emi who was watching "Jungle Book 2" in the room and saw the whole incident said:  "Be careful mama and nana!"  :) :) :)

Hubby and the boys went skiing today.  We had the family and cousins over to our house for a nice Chinese dinner tonight.  After dinner, Jeff and Jenn gave me and hubby a present...two baby bibs that says *I love grandma* *I love grandpa*....so HAPPY they are expecting their first baby, our 7th grandbaby, on Aug 14.  WAHOOOO!!!! :) :) :) :)

Are you okay???

If it makes you feel any better Fritz had a treadmill accident and the following day won the Ogden Marathon. I wouldn't be surprised if some supernatural running powers were bestowed upon you during the fall. Oh wait ... you already have those! :)

Love you!

My right arm is very sore, must've pulled a muscle and the knees got burned pretty bad...that and a bruised ego...pretty stupid and embarrassing! :) Definitely not Fritz's caliber enough to have super power bestowed...haha!

LOVE you too! :)

YAY! Congrats on baby #7!!!! How exciting for all of you. August will be a horribly hot finish to a pregnancy, but anything for those cuties!!

Sorry about the accident, I'm glad you had someone there to stop the darn machine! I hope you are feeling better today and that you are taking a day off to recover.

Yikes! Be careful on that contraption.

What was yesterday's ski report from your hubby and boys? I went with my kids on Sunday (it was my son's friend's birthday celebration at Solitude). It was the worst snow conditions I've ever seen in Utah. It was so bad I had to laugh to avoid crying. We were skiing on thin ice and those were the conditions on the groomed runs. No way you could ski anywhere but the groomers.

Sorry about the accident. Congratulations on the next grandchild. Grandkids are so much fun.

Fly ~ Hubby said it snowed the whole time. Solitude got some needed snow yesterday. It was better than last week for sure. I am very picky about my snow. I will not ski on over-groomed cruddy snow, ice or wet wet powder! :)

Rachel ~ It was a dumb accident. I had got off the TM to turn on the ceiling fan. The wall switch was around the corner. The room was dark and I squeezed in between the TM and elliptical all the while looking at Marianne to make sure she was fine with the ceiling fan on right above her head. I stepped on the moving TM from the side without realizing that it was running. It was quite scary when I fell hitting my chin and knees and could not get up to stop the darn thing. Had the TM not been boxed in (walls on one side and back end, and the other side sits the moving elliptical) I could've gotten off.

This entry is just so sweet. Jeff and Jen are expecting? That is such great news! And Emi just sounds adorable.

From Smooth on Thu, Jan 19, 2012 at 20:54:55 from 75.162.95.99

coach ~ I am going to run the SG Half for fun and get in one of the runner series races done! I am not a fan of NSAIDs though if the pain is bad I will take an ibuprofen! Thanks for checking in on me!
